To maximize your session, know the physical state of your body, the emotional state of your mind, and the strength of your spiritual connection.   Then figure out where you want to be on all levels.

That is where we can start your journey to overall health.

Therapeutic Massage can be more then a quick fix of a sore muscle.  Consider the following:

  • a repetitive use injury requires identifying the repetitive motion, adjusting that motion, and working on the sore muscle

  • postural issues can cause permanent muscular problems if the posture is not corrected so let’s correct and massage

  • chronic issues take time to build up therefore time to understand all of the contributing factors, look at all of the factors

  • scar tissue has a tendency to lay down haphazardly to repair your body and can cause movement restrictions

  • trauma gets stored in the tissues, massage does help to address physical concerns as well as the trauma being stored at the cellular level.

I ask you to take a few minutes to listen to what your body is telling you and why.  Then WE can work together to address your concerns and leave you with home care ideas.  If you can’t fully understand what is going on, come on in and I’ll ask you some questions.

Relaxation Massage: If you just want to come in and RELAX, then clear your mind and we’ll get you in the zone.  Relaxation massage is more powerful then some believe.  It is only by quieting the mind that the body can rest and recover.

Others things to do prior to your massage:

  • Don’t rush to your appointment, that  causes anxiety and it’s harder to jump into relaxing

  • Drink extra water as massage does flush things through you

  • Ask any questions before, during, or after your massage that you may have

  • Let me know if ANYTHING needs to be adjusted during your treatment because it is YOUR massage

  • You can bring your ipod and listen to the music that dances with your soul

The Chakras Facilitate the Vibrations of Music into your Body

The vital force of the human energy system directs energy throught the layers of subtle energy bodies.  It is the living part of us that moves our limbs, and lets us feel emotions and make free choices.

Music animates our minds and preserves us under stress.  The vital force exists in all life forms and is the same whether found in a human being, an animal, or a plant.  It is differentiated by form but is the same force in all living things.  It distinguishes life from non-life.

The force directs our physical energies, using the chakras as conductors to filter energy through the physical body.  Energy moves through the chakras, stimulating hormone flow in the ductless glands.  These, in turn, affect the biochemistry of the body and the rate at which the body uses energy.  At a physical level this is called metabolism.

Root Chakra:  The musical note C, drumming, which affects patience, structure, stability, security, and the ability to manifest  your dreams.

Sacral Chakra:  The musical note D, Latin dance, which affects well-being, sexuality, sensuality, pleasure, and abundance.

Solar Plexus Chakra:  The musical note E, marches, which affects self-worth, self-esteem, confidence, personal power, and freedom of choice.

Heart Chakra:  The musical note F, choral, which affects unity, brotherhood/sisterhood, love, peace, purity, and innocence.

Throat Chakra:  The musical note G, opera, which affects will, communication, creativity, truthfulness, and integrity.

Brow Chakra:  The musical note A, classical especially Mozart sonatas, which affects wisdom, discernment, imagination, intuition, and knowledge.

Crown Chakra:  The musical note B, Indian ragas, which affects grace, beauty, serenity, oneness with all that is.

As you can see, music enters your body at different chakra points of your body depending on the vibration of the music.  Ultimately, you affect your body by the music you listen to.  Think about how rock and roll makes you want to dance, it affects the root and sacral chakras.  Quiet and relaxing music makes you want to chill out, it affects your upper chakras, the brow and crown.
